First English Catholic College established in Canada – St. Mary’s College in Halifax

First Newman Club formed in Canada at the University of Toronto
1931
Canadian Province of National Newman Federation formed.
1942
Canadian Newman Federation formed.
Establishing Leadership
1946
Canadian Newman Federation was admitted to the International Student Organization Pax Romana. His Eminence James Cardinal McGuigan became the first Episcopal moderator.
1948
National Chaplain named by Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops.
Birth of CCCM
1960s
Catholic Colleges and Newman Clubs have common conferences.
1970s
Canadian Newman Federation unites with Catholic College’s to form the CCCM, a branch of the CCCB.
